Born in New Mexico, Carl attended Utah State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2004 and a Master of Accountancy in 2005. Carl continued his education with a law degree from the University of Denver, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate (JD) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in taxation in 2008. He began his career in the accounting field in 2005, working at the international “Big 4” firm, Ernest & Young. Throughout the years, he has also worked in local industry and regional public firms. Carl has over seven years experience as a CPA.
Carl took his years of experience as a CPA and utilized it to open his attorney practice in 2015, specializing in assisting both businesses and individuals in navigating complicated legal and tax regulations. Carl is committed to helping entrepreneurs succeed while minimizing exposure to legal and tax liabilities.
His passion for entrepreneurship has led him to successfully launch and run both service-providing and product-selling businesses. He has provided legal counsel and tax advice to a variety of ambitious businesses and individuals, from self-employed realtors to contract Chief Executive Officers (CEOs). With his ideal mix of legal and tax expertise, Carl has an impressive knowledge and skill set to serve his clients.
Always seeking the best and most effective way to serve his clients, Carl is a lifelong learner, as his master’s degree, JD, LL.M, and CPA will attest. He is a devoted husband and father to three children. He has an active and passionate love for the outdoors and for soccer.
